My better half has recently created and written a Google Gadget that allows you to monitor the status of your World of Warcraft realm from within your personalized Google homepage! It also lists the most recent topics from the Realm Status Forums as clickable links so you can keep up-to-date on any upcoming maintenance or realm issues. My original article I published on my gaming website blog back on 9/19/06. In this article I highlight eight different locations in the World of Warcraft that many might've heard of, but never taken the time to visit in-game in person on their own. Not only do I describe how to easily get to these locations, but I accompany my descriptions with maps and pictures to make it simple for anyone to check these places out for themselves.

A new extension has been released for Firefox that lets users check the status of realms in World of Warcraft within the browser. The extension is accessible through the Firefox Tools menu and lets you view current information about all realms on WoW, like which ones are up or not, the type of realm (RP,PVP,Normal), and their population size. It can also be set up to track an individual realm and alert you if the status changes.
