World of Warcraft Board Game Expansion

Fantasy Flight Games is preparing an October release for the World of Warcraft the Board Game: The Burning Crusade Expansion (MSRP $49.95). The deluxe board game is the sequel to FFG's original World of Warcraft Board Game, which was released in 2005 and was also based on the hugely popular World of Warcraft MMORPG (Massively Multi-Player Online Role-Playing Game), which reportedly has as many as 8.5 million subscribers worldwide.

World of Warcraft: Have you gone AFK in the Battlegrounds?

A common complaint among players in World of Warcraft is the AFK'ers in Battlegrounds. The AFK'ers would just join the battle and wait in the bunkers or the cave to see which side will win; if it's their group, they quickly join in to reap the rewards.

World of Warcraft: got elemental totem trouble?

"One at a time please." If you're a first time World of Warcraft Shaman and found that the global cooldown for totem popping (sorry, it's this writer's expression) is a trifle too much, you might want to revel in a little Shammy lore. If the true count of deployed elemental totems eludes your mental grasp, experienced Shammies say you get to drop one totem for each element and that is all.

World of Warcraft Addiction Stories

Are you addicted to WoW? Warcraft addictions seem to be fairly common. I’m definitely not saying there is anything wrong with video game addictions. We all need to have at least one addiction or two in life. Video game addiction is better for you than say an addiction to crack or meth, plus video games don’t turn your lips purple, at least in most cases anyway.

Thunderfury Replaced with Pinkfury!

A variety of textures have mysteriously vanished in the 2.2 patch, leaving behind a hot pink replacement as Cprompt tells us: The pink texture means the designer who created that item forgot to assign it a texture map. I've passed the item along to our designers. It should get fixed in the next PTR patch. Thanks for the bug report.

More Battleground maps to be introduced in World of Warcraft

"Why do we only have four battlegrounds in World of Warcraft?" has been a consistently popping question in the WoW forums. You'd think that with all the complaints players have been fielding, this would be the last thing they'd be asking for, but apparently some just want more battlegrounds.

The downfalls of player-created housing

We unfortunately don't know much about what's coming next, but we do know one thing that's scheduled to show up, at least before the next expansion: some sort of housing. All the Blue hints point to guild housing, but player housing is an idea that's been tossed around as well.

Resilience and DoTs changes in next patch

In the next major content patch, the combat rating, resilience, will also reduce the damage dealt by damage over time (DoT) effects. As it currently stands, each new tier of equipment adds to the amount of damage DoT abilities have, yet that damage is not mitigated through combat ratings found on typical equipment. This change will help ensure that DoT effects do not scale too well compared to other damage mechanics.

Cutting down on grind time for lowbie pets

Mania's Arcania, which is the new home of the Petopia blog, has a really interesting look at a frustrating problem for hunters-- leveling a lowbie pet with a high level character. Say you're 70 and you want a Ghost Saber. Because the Ghost Saber spawns at only 19 or 20, the only way to currently level it is to basically let the hunter tank (or kite, more likely), and simply bring the pet along for the ride.
