It's a pretty well done feature, too. WoW Insider's Paul Sherrard took the recorder for a test drive, and created what you see above (after a little bit of iMovie fiddling). The options are pretty impressive for an ingame vid capture as well-- you can control whether the UI or cursor is seen or not, and you even get a choice of codecs (including H.264, Pixlet, or Motion JPEG). Rollie has posted his June concurrency numbers over at WarcraftRealms.com. The numbers indicate that the drop in activity in May has ended with a turnaround in June. June player activity is up sharply and WoW is still maintaining a higher player activity level than prior to The Burning Crusades launch. All positive signs that TBC is being played more often and by more players than the original game.

Don't you think? I was contemplating this on the way back from work today. NPCs, in the World of Warcraft at least, as pretty uninteresting folk. Sure they provide you with quests for this and that, and on occasion you can build a bit of a back-story - but surely there's a way to make them a little more...engaging

We just posted on the blog that Ant has won the June World of Warcraft Figures contest! Congrats, and thanks to everyone who participated. The next contest for Set Two of the WoW Figures will start shortly, we also may add second prize in. Perhaps a 60 day game card. Suggestions appreciated, post below.

With Naxxramas coming out any time now, the Argent Dawn faction has gotten a bit more fleshed out. You can now check out the Superior and Epic items you can recieve from them for completing quests. You can also check out the new Revered and Exalted recipies you will be able to create.

The revelation comes after a VUGames presentation to Wall Street today. According to the news item, all the Blizzard franchises will be moving over to the MMO format after the success of WoW.

And you thought there was nothing on regular television. YouTube shows a two minutes and 22 seconds of nonsense World of Warcraft televison/TV.

This thread from the US WoW forums details a strange set of children hiding out in a house north of Goldshire. Strange and haunting music plays while the six children all stare off into space in the same direction. Five of the children are arranged in a pentagon with a sixth in the center. Check out this spooky thread and the theories about who and what these children are.

Here is WoW lore god Chris Metzen's response to all of the lore issues lately. Fantastic read.
Good job about owning up and sticking to your guns, Chris.

Wow exploiters are using the Sony BMG rootkit to cover themselves. Apparently the tools used for hacking cannot be detected with the rootkit.

Check out this post on the World of Warcraft site. A bunch of players are listing what types of jobs they have. It's pretty interesting to see what most WOW players do for a living.
