Yep, the madness is spreading. Some guy has just spent almost £5,000 to buy a souped up character off another player in the online roleplaying phenomenon, World of Warcraft.
The character, a rogue, came wielding the much prized Twin Blades of Azzinoth [above], which drop off big baddie Illidan Stormrage from the The Black Temple. As if you didn’t know.

Owning this hat enters you into a very exclusive club, a club that only allows people who have way too much time to do meaningless things in video games to get even more meaningless items. However, the hat is still freakin cool.

A Troll with spunky hairdo and an attitude from World of Warcraft was spotted on a street wall in China. We always encourage WoW otakus to unwind in an artistic way.

China's drive to impose social and political "harmony" on the internet has claimed a new set of victims: undead skeletons. Chinese players of World of Warcraft, a hugely popular online role-playing game, have expressed outrage after their 'undead skeleton' characters were suddenly clad in new flesh, apparently in order to comply with a secret government ban on bare bones. Nuts.

exico City, Mexico-(MH)-Mexican World of Warcraft player Bronco Carson reported to local police on Saturday that 3 men broke into his home and beat his arms with clubs and smashed his computer. It was supposedly in retaliation for Carson stalking and repeatedly killing one of the attackers wife’s character during computer video game play.

So whats there left to do in WOW after you experience all the end game content, deck yourself out in legendaries, have had your class nerfed to hell and battleground queues suck on your server? You've ranked up in PvP to the top of your server then ranked yourself all the way back down with 1337 dishonorable kills. Whats left?

As a freshman at the University of North Texas, Daniel Folmer would sometimes play video games for 12 hours straight. He stopped going out with friends. He sank onto academic probation.
When his girlfriend came over, he stayed in his virtual world. Then she told him something that jolted him back to reality.

A great list of NPC names, quest names, locations and quotes from World of Warcraft that are references to movies, characters, actors, songs, singers and other popular sources. Maybe a little old, and outdated - but still a cool list!

Back in January, Cory Jones of Upper Deck hinted that there may be a Leeroy Jenkins card in the Warcraft TCG. He said that the card may be used as "a reward or prize". It turns out that there will indeed be a Leeroy Jenkins card!

There were many CD covers with impressive art and a great sense of humor; choosing just five winners out of this selection clearly was no easy task. There were some of the other great submissions, so also make sure to check out the honorable mentions.

Great question i saw on the link above on the wow forums... If you could take any one ability from WoW and use it in the 'real world', what would it be? My choice would be Summon Dreadsteed :-)
