I wrote this Google gadget Wednesday during some server downtime. It displays all the data that is on the main WoW status page. The background color changes when the status changes. You can filter the servers in the list by clicking the name and refreshing the page. If you remove the filtered servers you get the full list again. I might be updating it, I can certainly add features if the demand is there.

A couple of weeks ago, our guild made the decision to leave Warcraft. I am posting the reasons here, as I see them, mainly because I felt it needed to be said. I am doing this on my own accord, and my views may not be the exact same views as my guild...

Blizzard is getting ready to take the wraps off of a new realm-transfer system (with European servers following suit after) that will let players move their characters to less-populated realms to get more breathing room. We have the details from lead producer Shane Dabiri.

Online may be the future of the role-playing game genre, but single-player adventuring isn't dead yet. A resurgent Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion relit the dragonfires of gamers' hearts and wallets this week, claiming the top spot on the NPD weekly PC sales charts. During the week of May 21 to 27, Oblivion dethroned last week's champ, the massively multiplayer success World of Warcraft, which slipped to the second spot.

Mmogchart.com Version 20.0 is now available! This is a major update, with updated numbers for many games, most notably World of Warcraft, Eve Online, RuneScape, and most of NCSoft’s titles. I’ve also added three new MMOGs to the tracking data: Tibia, The Matrix Online, and Dungeons and Dragons Online. I know this was posted before, but this is a direct link. Check it out.

Hello all, I posted this on the blog and figured I would let everyone know by posting it here as well. We did some major bug fixing and optimizing on the site. We also have a fun contest we are announcing tomorrow for all users to participate in. I think its a great prize! Good luck.

If you are from the Axis of Evil, you are not supposed to be in the legions of the Horde — even if your country got bombed out of the Axis more than three years ago. Kalimdor’s a no-fly zone, as are the Eastern Kingdoms. This is because World of Warcraft’s Terms of Use bars players living in Iraq, Iran, North Korea, or any other country to which the U.S. has embargoed goods.
