This is slated to be changed in an upcoming patch (not 3.0.8). All new mounts that currently function like vehicles will be changed to function like other standard mounts. This includes the flying carpet.

One of the cooler vanity items you can get in Wrath of the Lich King is the Iron Boot Flask, which turns you into an Iron Dwarf for 10 minutes every hour. Currently it only costs 10 Relics of Ulduar (an item that has a chance to drop off of anything in Storm Peaks), but that's going to change in patch 3.0.8. The Relics themselves are losing their current Soulbound status, but the Boot Flask will cost a jarring 250 Relics of Ulduar.

MMO-Champion has a list of the new stats for many Northrend-era "feral staves" from the 3.0.8 PTR on their site. As you can see, feral attack power as a statistic is no more. Instead, each staff now has the higher base DPS you'd expect for a solid 2-handed melee weapon of their level, and any strength has been converted to straight up attack power. This is, of course, expected, since we knew Druids were getting the ability to use weapon DPS, but it's interesting that they have completely overhau...

Updates
Relic of Ulduar aren't soulbound anymore.
Small update on the new stats of Feral staves, Druids can now see the Feral AP value given by all weapons.
Many item changes added, new Sigils, Titansteel Guardian new stats, and also a few change to the Sons All Feral Druid Staves have been changed, you can check the comparison of the new/old stats for most of the WotLK feral staves.
Let's start the updates! New epic rewards now properly labelled as Lake Wintergrasp rewards, prices added.

Mounts! A subject near and dear to my heart, having been one in my past life. With today's posting of the patch notes for PTR patch 3.0.8, we've discovered that mounts are no longer restricted by race, which means that any mount available to your faction is yours to ride as you see fit. Tauren, this means you can ride that skelly horse you've been after, or even a choc--err, hawkstrider. It also means that if you're a human, night elf, or draenei, you can ratchet the ridiculousness level up to e...

# Players may now create death knights on any realm once they reach level 55.
# Bonus Armor: The mechanics for items with bonus armor on them has changed (any cloth, leather, mail, or plate items with extra armor, or any other items with any armor). Bonus armor beyond the base armor of an item will no longer be multiplied by any talents or by the bonuses of Bear Form, Dire Bear Form, or Frost Presence.

We've made some changes to several dungeons to allow easier access for players in the upcoming patch.
The ritual objects that used to require 3 players to activate in Blackrock Spire and Uldaman now only require 1.
You no longer need quintessence to summon Majordomo Executus.
You no longer need the Scepter of Celebras to teleport to the final section of Maraudon.
You no longer need the Mallet of Zul'Farrak to summon Gahz'rilla.
The Scepter and Mallet both turn into actual weapons.

We have talked about making some of these changes and wanted to provide more details. You should be able to try these out yourselves on the PTR before they go live.
Our reason for most of these changes should be obvious, but some common themes are:-- Making tanking still rely on cooldowns, but rely on them a little less.
-- Make Blood a more attractive spec, and particularly for tanking.

Well, today’s the big day…WoW patch 2.4.3 is now live! You can check out the complete patch notes below, though I’ve listed some of the more notable features up top for all you lazy people.
New Arena Gems
You can now purchase epic gems with arena points. Also, don’t forget…these gems are NOT unique, they are just like the gems from badges / BT / hyjal. So you can use as many as you want.

"With the release of Patch 2.4.3 today, construction has commenced at the docks in Stormwind. It's located between Cathedral Square and The Park, at the end of the canals. If you talk to the workers in the area, they'll tell you that they are preparing to bust out the wall to create a new entrance to the city. There's lots of life bustling around the construction site, and here's your first tour."

The 2.4.3 patch notes have some pretty incredible changes coming up. A level 30 mount? CHECK! Rogue's "Cheat Death" talent being reigned in? CHECK! For Cheat Death... "If the Rogue is below 10% health, the killing blow is still completely absorbed; if the Rogue is over 10% health, enough damage will be absorbed to reduce the Rogue’s health down to 10%."

Before 2.4.2 is even up on PTRs, MMO-Champion and World of Raids have undocumented changes listed on their sites. That's dedication! Of course, given that none of this can be verified, you should take it with a grain of salt, but most of the time changes found in the game files end up going live. Here's what's been noticed so far:

Wowhead has done a great job linking each affected patch item to its respective spell/skill/item/etc. This gives you an immediate way to recognize directly what is affected.
Bravo to Wowhead!

Blizzard Poster/ Community Manager Vaneras on the WoW Europe Forums finally gave word that Guild Banks will be in the 2.3 patch. Currently though, it is still being worked on by the developers. Hopefully, they will make good on their promise of introducing this since a lot of guild members in the WoW community have been complaining about lack of space for their items.

WoW v2.2 software sports the ability to record in-game video to QuickTime using H.264, Motion JPEG or Pixlet codecs, and you can specify resolution and frame rate. Blizzard notes that not all Macs have enough performance to smoothly capture video at a high frame rate; the company cautions that users will have to find good settings for each system. The new functionality requires Mac OS X v10.4.9 or later and QuickTime 7.1.6 or later.
