Now that the Beta is open, there's all sorts of info pouring out onto the internet. Naturally, I've gotta talk about all the new shaman changes, and offer my heavily-biased opinion of them.

Article Updates - Zone and Dungeons
There are a lot of articles in the work, some changes are bigger than the others but most of the time we just can't news them because they're still minor changes. To solve this problem I will do a list of the changes on the site every once in a while.

"I know we've been laying the Wrath news on thick but we're all incredibly excited, and I think most of you are, too. It's especially difficult to restrain myself when I see things like the motorcycle you see above, which I was directed to by an acquaintance of mine that's in the Beta. I don't have a concrete source on the fact that these motorcycles are made by Engineers."

One of the most interesting new features coming out of the for Wrath of the Lich king is the achievements system. The new achievements tab will appear on your character screen and will serve as a permanent marker to your in-game accomplishments when other people inspect you.
Achievements vary dramatically, some are incredibly easy and can be completed in a few minutes, while others may require weeks or months for you to complete all the tasks associated with the task.

"That's right! You are now able to register for a spot in the Wrath of the Lich King beta by accessing the account management page on worldofwarcraft.com. Scroll down and look for the option: "Wrath of the Lich King Beta Opt-In". Click on it, press accept and you are now eligible for a spot in the beta. It's that simple."

Oooh, at last. The new Shaman talents and spells have been leaked. I'm going to go through them and explain what I like (nearly all of it) and what I don't (almost none of it). Keep in mind that this stuff WILL change. Some stuff will be buffed/nerfed, some will be reworked, some will be removed completely, and some will be added in the future. This stuff is from a very early version of the expansion, and we're not even supposed to be able to see it yet.

"Sources are saying that a new Alpha build showed up on the WoTLK Alpha servers yesterday, featuring a few interesting changes. Kalgan's promised spellpower change we have mentioned, and it now appears to be on the Alpha servers. In addition, it looks like the dev team is working on consolidating even more stats."

"Players will allegedly be rewarded for completing various tasks, such as exploring the whole map, getting 2 classes to level 80, getting a character of each faction to level 80, leveling one of every class to 80 etc.
There's no mention of what the rewards might be for this, or if players will be rewarded these achievements if they've already completed them before the expansion goes live, but it's an interesting idea, none the less."

"And now, the new descriptions:
* Blood: Talents in this tree focus on weapons, armor, and strikes.
* Frost: Talents in this tree focus on control, counters, and combos.
* Unholy: Talents in this tree focus on spells, summons, and diseases.
This is quite a drastic change, but what could it mean?" --> READ MORE!!!

Quote: A comparison of the first quarters of 2007 and 2008 performances is not representative because the first quarter of 2007 included the hugely successful release of World of Warcraft: The Burning Crusade. Blizzard Entertainment's second expansion, World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King, is scheduled to be released in the second half of 2008.

Blizzard drops some Death Knight details in a Q&A with the design team for World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King. The Q&A explores the role the new class plays in game lore as well as your adventuring party. The player character Death Knights have rebelled against Arthas, joining the Horde (yay!) or Alliance (boo!) to help take down the vile Lich King.

Whether Blizzard can actually achieve its plan of releasing a new World of Warcraft expansion every year remains to be seen. Wrath of the Lich King opens up the new continent of Northrend and brings with it an increase in level cap (to 80), the introduction of Hero classes with the Death Knight, siege weaponry and destructible buildings in Battlegrounds and further additions to keep fans hooked forever.
