With gear upgrades these days being so easy to come by, I\'m not so sure \'welfare epics\' is such an accurate term for PvP gear anymore. That said, Arena Season 5 started the other day without so much as a whimper. It kind of crept in quietly, without even a patch to go along with it. I\'m sure it\'s taken a few players by surprise to see so many new PvP gear available from different sources that it can get confusing. I know I wrote about it in an old post, but quite a bit has changed since Beta, and some things don\'t quite apply. Don\'t worry, we\'re here to help you make sense of it all.
This is slated to be changed in an upcoming patch (not 3.0.8). All new mounts that currently function like vehicles will be changed to function like other standard mounts. This includes the flying carpet.
One of the cooler vanity items you can get in Wrath of the Lich King is the Iron Boot Flask, which turns you into an Iron Dwarf for 10 minutes every hour. Currently it only costs 10 Relics of Ulduar (an item that has a chance to drop off of anything in Storm Peaks), but that\'s going to change in patch 3.0.8. The Relics themselves are losing their current Soulbound status, but the Boot Flask will cost a jarring 250 Relics of Ulduar.
Merrymaker is part of What A Long, Strange Trip It\'s Been to get the Violet Proto-Drake. I assume that most of you will try to complete it, here is a small guide to help you becoming a Merrymaker!On Metzen!Complete Metzen the Reindeer / Metzen the Reindeer, Metzen is still in the Searing Gorge and in Tanaris, just like all the other years. You can check the map on wowhead. The quests for this achievement start in Orgrimmar / Ironforge depending on your faction. (Like pretty much all the quests for the event)Scrooge / ScroogeAnother \"free\" achievement, just buy a Snowball and throw it at King Magni Bronzebeard in Ironforge or Cairne Bloodhoof in Thunder Bluff depending on your faction.
So you\'re level 80 and you want to respec to a tank build and head straight into tanking 5-mans. In order to be the best tank you can be, there\'s a very definite first step you should take, which we have discussed before, but which bears repeating: Get 540 Defense. This will make you immune to critical strikes from level 83 mobs, making it much easier to heal you in pretty much every situation, and it\'s really a prerequisite for serious tanking before any other stat.
Check out the link on the WoR website for a really great summarization of the changes coming with the 3.0.8 World of Warcraft patch. The list includes items that are new, changed items, skill differences, quest changes, everything!
Dec 11th, 2008Oh boy. Deborah Tate is an FCC Commissioner (and will be for another three years at least -- she was appointed for another five year term in 2007), and claimed in a speech about telecom policy and regulation last week that \"one of the top reasons for college drop-outs in the U.S. is online gaming addiction -- such as World of Warcraft -- which is played by 11 million individuals worldwide.\"
\"He charged deep into the fray, heading for the humans\' general. The rest of us spread out and aided the Alliance forces where necessary. They were fools to have started this fight without us. They\'d seen little of war, and for the past six years we had been at \"peace\". They were soft, and they were smugly certain they could win the day. It hadn\'t occurred to them that they might lose. They didn\'t really understand loss, not as we orcs do.\"
MMO-Champion has a list of the new stats for many Northrend-era \"feral staves\" from the 3.0.8 PTR on their site. As you can see, feral attack power as a statistic is no more. Instead, each staff now has the higher base DPS you\'d expect for a solid 2-handed melee weapon of their level, and any strength has been converted to straight up attack power. This is, of course, expected, since we knew Druids were getting the ability to use weapon DPS, but it\'s interesting that they have completely overhauled the weapons to this degree.
UpdatesRelic of Ulduar aren\'t soulbound anymore.Small update on the new stats of Feral staves, Druids can now see the Feral AP value given by all weapons. Many item changes added, new Sigils, Titansteel Guardian new stats, and also a few change to the Sons All Feral Druid Staves have been changed, you can check the comparison of the new/old stats for most of the WotLK feral staves.Let\'s start the updates! New epic rewards now properly labelled as Lake Wintergrasp rewards, prices added.
Mounts! A subject near and dear to my heart, having been one in my past life. With today\'s posting of the patch notes for PTR patch 3.0.8, we\'ve discovered that mounts are no longer restricted by race, which means that any mount available to your faction is yours to ride as you see fit. Tauren, this means you can ride that skelly horse you\'ve been after, or even a choc--err, hawkstrider. It also means that if you\'re a human, night elf, or draenei, you can ratchet the ridiculousness level up to eleven and ride a mechanostrider if you so desire.
# Players may now create death knights on any realm once they reach level 55.# Bonus Armor: The mechanics for items with bonus armor on them has changed (any cloth, leather, mail, or plate items with extra armor, or any other items with any armor). Bonus armor beyond the base armor of an item will no longer be multiplied by any talents or by the bonuses of Bear Form, Dire Bear Form, or Frost Presence.
We\'ve made some changes to several dungeons to allow easier access for players in the upcoming patch.The ritual objects that used to require 3 players to activate in Blackrock Spire and Uldaman now only require 1.You no longer need quintessence to summon Majordomo Executus.You no longer need the Scepter of Celebras to teleport to the final section of Maraudon.You no longer need the Mallet of Zul\'Farrak to summon Gahz\'rilla.The Scepter and Mallet both turn into actual weapons.
\"Oline role-playing games are booming in China. The influence of virtual world is spreading even into day to day life. A newly opened Beijing restaurant captures the trend. The interior decoration of the place is inspired by one popular online game...\"
We have talked about making some of these changes and wanted to provide more details. You should be able to try these out yourselves on the PTR before they go live.Our reason for most of these changes should be obvious, but some common themes are:-- Making tanking still rely on cooldowns, but rely on them a little less.-- Make Blood a more attractive spec, and particularly for tanking.
Character Re-Customization. What does that mean? In short, for a fee of $15, you can rebuild your character, with some restrictions. You can change your gender, face, skin, hair, and name, but not your race or class.
Just an update on the 5x boomkin. Holy crap they are amazing. I was lucky to roll them prior to WOTLK w/o knowing they would be getting some extreme buffs.I\'ll describe some typical situations with my 5x Boomkins;
